Sela-Cough®
really did help raise the roof of Adams Park, the home of FA Cup semi finalists Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 31 March when high-flying Wigan Athletic were the visitors for a vital Division 2 clash. Sela Traditional Sweets were the official Programme Sponsors for the match, and took the opportunity to hand out thousands of packets of their famous Sela-Cough® lozenges to the fans as they entered the ground. James Roberts, Great Grandson of Tom Roberts, Sela-Cough®'s inventor, commented before the game: "With lots of coughs and colds still around, we are sure that the Wycombe fans will appreciate being able to ease those coughs or clear up any dry throats to enable them to lend even stronger vocal support to the team. I am also sure they will just enjoy them as a sweet, as they taste very pleasant as well.”
Sela-Cough® have already been used to good effect at many of the UK’s most prestigious classical concert venues, where they have played a large part in keeping audiences quiet during concert performances, including a recital performance by renowned opera diva Kiri Te Kanawa. However, in the case of Adams Park, the sweets were there for the opposite effect in order generate some extra crowd noise in preparation for their historic FA Cup clash with Liverpool! As it happened, Wycombe did succumb to the Premiership might of Liverpool, but not without a gallant fight, and of course with the help of the clear voices from their loyal following!

Following the success of the Wycombe Wanderers promotion, the company is planning crowd sampling events for Sela-Cough® at football matches up and down the country, covering Premiership and Nationwide League clubs. We are also presently discussing possible product placements with other major sporting events where crowd silence is required, including snooker and golf tournaments.
